Worship Arts - Choirs

SonRise Choir

The SonRise choir is a rock solid group that follows a more traditional approach to worship, keeping our rich musical heritage alive and well every Sunday at 8:30am.  There is a short Introit sang (typically a cappella) directly following the prelude.  Then we make our way to the back, greeting worshippers as we go, in order to process to the choir loft on the first hymn.  We sing an anthem for the offertory and lead the congregation in calling the children forward for their conversation with the Pastor.  We then lead the congregation in the next hymn before making our way out to join the worshippers for the Pastor’s sermon.  This choir is directed by Ben Nichols and accompanied by the amazing Joan Roberts.

St. Andrew’s Choir

St. Andrew’s choir speaks to a more culturally diverse crowd.  We sit in the loft at the beginning of the service and lend our voices to the congregation in singing the opening hymn.  Interested more in engaging the world in a dynamic encounter with the living God, we come before Him as is, to lead His worshippers from where they are into His presence.  Toward this end we do not use robes, not out of disdain for a beautiful tradition, but out of a need to present a relevant example of worship to those seeking God’s presence; an example that shows everyday people confidently praising an awesome God.  This choir is directed by Ben Nichols and accompanied by the incredible Joan Roberts.

Echo

Echo is an a cappella group specifically formed to go out into the world and share God’s light and love through song.  Rehearsals are short and focused.  Performances opportunities are limited only by availability of singers.  This choir is unaccompanied.

Summer Celebration Choir

The Summer Celebration choir is the most relaxed choir known to man.  Rehearsal is held the last Thursday of each month to sing the following Sunday.  The arrangements are simple and easy to learn.  The only real requirement is the desire to lift your voice in praise and worship.  This is an excellent way to “get into” the music ministry of this Community of Faith.  This choir is directed by Ben Nichols and accompanied by the Praise Band.

Cherub Choir

The Cherub choir is for all children 4yrs old to 1st grade.  Children are taught fun songs that reinforce foundational faith building truths.  They are directed by Elaine Mincks (who possesses a Master’s Degree in music education) and accompanied by the talented Joan Roberts.  This choir is partnered with the Kid’s World Program (link here to Kid’s World page)

Chapel Choir

The Chapel choir is for all children 2nd grade to 5th grade.  The Chapel choir works with music a bit more challenging and age appropriate than the Cherub choir.  They are directed by Elaine Mincks (who possesses a Master’s Degree in music education) and accompanied by the outstanding Joan Roberts.  This choir is partnered with the Kid’s World Program (link here to Kid’s World page)
