Christians Who Are Presbyterian
Presbyterians, first of all,
are Christians. We believe in one God who revealed himself and
his plan for us in the Bible and in the life, death, and
resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible is the ultimate
authority in our life. We believe that each Christian is called
by God to a life of service and ministry and to a growing walk
with Jesus Christ.
Ultimately there is no
better statement of what we believe as Christians who are
Presbyterian than the historic creed we know as the Apostle’s
Creed. It says:
I believe in God the Father
almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His
only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of
the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified,
dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day He
rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at
the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He shall
come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the holy
catholic church; the communion of the saints; the forgiveness of
sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting. |
