WHAT IS PROJECT FREEDOM?
Project Freedom is an educational program with the simple goal of teaching us how to handle money the way God intended. It consists of a commitment from each and every member of our congregation to attend a series of financial classes called Financial Peace University (FPU). FPU was developed by Dave Ramsey and is rooted in Biblical truth. He discovered that when an entire church congregation followed the ideals of this course that BIG things started to happen. He called this discovery:

The Momentum Theorem

Focused intensity, over time, multiplied by God, equals unstoppable momentum.

Project Freedom is about more than setting our own financial priorities straight, it's about equipping our members with the tools they need to make a substantial impact in our community.

WHY?
We believe that our congregation is made up of caring people with a giving spirit who want to live as God intended. We believe that when your heart is free from stress, free from burden, and free from financial restraints it becomes free to give, free to nurture, and free to love Jesus. We believe that if we make a change in our lives, we can change the lives of our children, grandchildren, and the people in our community forever, for the good. We believe in Project Freedom.

HOW?
Only by sharing this vision with our community of faith and making a promise to one another; to listen, to learn, to cheer, and to coach each other, will we be successful. Single parents, newlyweds, retirees, teens, and children alike must commit to a temporary change in our church schedule in order to make a permanent change in the way we live. Currently, 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and money problems are cited as the #1 cause of divorce in America. These realities have become normal and we don't want to be normal anymore. The change begins with Project Freedom.

WHAT?
Beginning this fall, you will start to see posters around church, view testimonials from congregation members that are celebrating their own financial freedom milestones, and learn more about how the Bible says we should handle the money and possessions that God has entrusted to our care while on this Earth. On January 8, 2012 we will begin the 13-week Financial Peace University classes. All other discipleship/educational programs will be temporarily on hold. We ask that EVERYONE participates in Financial Peace University. The cost for the course materials is $93.00. Scholarships are available...no one will be turned away due to cost!

Just imagine what you could do for the Kingdom of God if you were financially free. Imagine what an entire congregation could do. Imagine what an entire community could do. The giving, community outreach, and ministry opportunities are infinite.
